We will give you the best methods to remove blackheads, beginning with the most practical tool, on discount at the moment.

But what are blackheads by the way?

Generally speaking, blackheads are clogged hair follicles. In contact with the air, this mixture of dead cells and sebum will turn black, and this is how the blackhead is visible on your face.

Blackheads are mainly located on the face and in particular on the T-shaped area formed by the forehead, the area around the nose and the chin. It is rarer to have them elsewhere on the body, but it is not impossible.

Even if the blackhead is not a skin disease, it remains a real problem for women and men, because it affects appearance by being visible. Fortunately, it is quite easy to extract them and reduce their frequency of occurrence.

Why do you have blackheads?

Blackheads appear in different situations. Don’t worry; blackheads are not inevitable!

At puberty, hormonal changes make sebum production to be at its peak causing blackheads to appear more frequently.

Of course, all hormonal changes such as ending the contraceptive pill or even the beginning of menopause are periods when sebum production will intensify. As a result, you may have more blackheads as soon as your body undergoes a hormonal change.

The second factor that influences the appearance of blackheads is diet. If you have an unhealthy lifestyle by overeating fat or too much sugar, it promotes the development of blackheads. It cannot be said enough; many skin problems can be solved by changing your diet and lifestyle.

Finally, if you have so-called oily skin, your sebum production is higher, and this leads to the appearance of blackheads as your pores are more dilated to produce more sebum.

Generally speaking, when your sebum production increases, the frequency of blackheads also increases.

How to avoid blackheads?

Now you’re wondering how to avoid having blackheads and act directly on this sebum production?

Here are some tips to avoid blackheads:

  • Have a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid fats, sugar and junk food in general. The healthier your diet, the more your body will be able to regulate sebum production. If you are always hungry, don’t hesitate to abuse natural appetite suppressants to avoid craving unhealthy snacks.
  • Do not expose yourself to the sun unnecessarily. Of course, in summer we usually try to get a tan! Unfortunately, when your skin is in the sun, the outermost layer of your skin thickens naturally. This phenomenon leads to an accumulation of sebum and therefore favors the appearance of blackheads.
  • Do not use make-up products that are too covering! Your skin must breathe during the day so make sure not to wear a thick layer of foundation or use skin-friendly products only. Feel free to look for opinions on different cosmetics products on the internet to find out which one is best for your skin.

How to remove blackheads?

There are different methods to remove blackheads that circulate on the Internet. However, not all of them are good and respectful to your skin.

Blackheads being located on the face, it is important not to remove it with your nails or fingers, at the risk of leaving a mark on your skin even more unsightly than your blackheads.

The mechanical method (via a blackhead extractor)

It is not necessarily the fastest or least painful method, but you can remove your blackheads at home and without any equipment.

Just press the black spot between two of your fingers that you will have previously inserted into two tissues. Do not touch directly with your nails or fingers; hands are never 100% clean.

If you prefer, there are sterilized comedone extractor/blackhead extractors that put pressure on your skin to release sebum and dead cells trapped in your pores

Si vous préférez, il existe des extracteurs / aspirateurs de point noirs qui font pression à votre place pour libérer le sébum et les cellules mortes coincés dans vos pores.

Take care of your face

To remove blackheads, you can also apply masks to your skin.

It is generally recommended to cleanse your face twice a day with a suitable product.

If you have oily or combination skin, the idea is to cleanse the skin, but without drying or irritating it. There are ZINC-based products that are effective and have antiseptic properties to prevent clogging of the pores of the facial skin.

You can also add a green clay mask once or twice a week.

By applying these two tips, you will see that you will have far fewer blackheads and you will take care of your skin at the same time!

The natural method

If you’re more of an “everyday nature” type, here’s a homemade treatment to remove blackheads.

You will, therefore, need baking soda, cinnamon, lemon, and honey.

In a small bowl, mix 0.7 ounces of baking soda, 0.1 ounces of cinnamon, 1/3 lemon, and six tsp of honey until you obtain a consistent paste.

Then simply apply this paste to your face for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. This preparation will act as a mask and release the pores of your face.

This mixture has the particularity of having antibacterial properties, i.e., it will also cleanse your face of all other impurities. Very practical!

Dermatological cleansing

Even if there is no effective dermatological procedure to remove blackheads, you can work with your dermatologist to thoroughly cleanse your skin.

It is often people with acne who use this deep cleansing, but if you have a lot of blackheads, it will be an effective solution too. Talk to your dermatologist about it.
